Grad Wkend

Friday finally arrived, after a very busy and hectic week. We pulled ourselves out of bed (only because I had been up doing laundry at all hours of the night, not because we weren’t excited!) We left for the airport around 8. Got there and made it thru security (after being patted down twice and going thru the normal scanner thing and the full body one!) Grabbed a breakfast bagel from Tim’s and boarded the plane for Calgary and then on to Abbotsford. We arrived on time and were greeted with a huge hugs and hellos by our friends: Mark & Bonnie, Ky, and Tanner and Tiff. And thus our wkend began!

After we dropped our bags off at the hotel, Ky, Tanner, Tiff, Kelly, and I all went to Nanado’s to grab a quick snack and then goofed around until supper. Supper was in Fort Langley at an amazing bistro called Beatniks. I had a burger and it will definitely be hard to beat that one! Then we were off to Chapel, for the first part of Grad. By the way, the school is Trinity Western University, one of the best in Canada and considered a Bible University, thus the reason for Chapel. Chapel consisted of a Praise and Worship service, with us all singing some hymns together and then some of the grads gave testimonies of their time there. It was very interesting with some really good thoughts left. Back at the hotel, Tiff and I sat and chatted for awhile before hitting the hay.

Saturday was the real Grad Ceremony at a church in Abbotsford. There were lots graduating so took quite awhile. We had lunch then headed up to Whistler. It’s a beautiful drive (even in the rain). For at least half of the way you drive along the water on one side and the mountains on the other. Went for steak when we got there and then headed for the pool and hot tub. I was so excited since it was actually salt water!! That’s the first time I’ve swam at a hotel in a very long time!! Sunday…. we went zip lining (I know, we missed church but we did have church services Friday night and Saturday). If you haven’t been zip-lining you should most definitely go! Our longest line of the day was 45 seconds with you getting up to 110 KM! Loved it! Slower would have been nice though, so you could actually see the rushing river below! By the time we were done with that it was starting to snow/rain, so shopped just a little in the village then headed back to Langley. Back in Langley we dropped off 3 of the girls that had come with us then went to our hotel and just relaxed, Ky and Tiff came and hung out in our room.

After an amazing brunch at Wendal's in Fort Langley...we flew home! By the way Sharon, you would have loved this place! Books and and all kinds of coffee, smoothies, and very yummy food! Shall we make a trip?! It was a great and wonderful wkend (went by way too fast)!!
