We had spent Friday
night in Grand Forks, so we took our time getting around in the morning.
Stopped for some amazing Pumpkin Bread and White Chocolate Mocha at Starbuck
{was scared I might lose some weight on the trip, LOL!} and then off to the
airport. Whipped through security and boarded almost right away. Then for the 4
hour flight to Orlando! Well we got there just fine and as soon as we were to
the car rental place my shoes and socks came off and the flip flops came on!
Felt SO Awesome! Got the car rented and you will never guess what it was!!!! A Crown
Vic!! So you can imagine that the rest of the week was either highly
entertaining or embarrassing, depending on what kind of situation we were in at
the time! Wayne’s flew into a different airport so they had no idea what we
were coming to pick them up in. Tiff, of course, gasped and Wayne died
laughing! Grabbed some supper and then ‘boated’ on down to Arcadia. We
arrived at Clarrisa’s cute little house with much revving of the engine and
then we were met with shrieks, lots of laughter,
and the wonderful smell of orange blossoms!
We skipped out
morning church since our time with Clarissa was going to be so short… The guys
went and got some fresh orange juice in town. The stuff they call orange juice
in the stores doesn’t even compare! Then we headed out to Sarasota. Stopped at
a bridge just before Sarasota and watched the alligators for a while and then
went to good ol’ Sonny’s for lunch! Then went to Siesta Key and walked along
the beach. I even found 2 Sand Dollars! Next stop was for frozen yogurt! YUM! By
then it was almost time for evening church in Sarasota so did a quick drive by
thro Amishville and went and got ready for church at the little mission church.
Church proved to be very interesting and very full with all of Arcadia there
and lots of neighbors – Amish and all different kinds of Mennonites. And I was
very surprised at how many people I actually knew from there! Went with the
youth for supper and then headed back to Arcadia.
Clarissa had school
so Wayne’s and us got up and went back to Siesta Key. This time to eat Popeye’s
chicken on the beach, lay out, and swim! Was very cloudy at first but it soon
cleared off and was a beautiful day! I really, really wish I was still there!!
Left around 4 and headed back and with every mile it seemed like our skin was
turning a brighter red! We were all very burnt! Cleaned up some and then packed
and said our goodbyes and headed back to Orlando. We all had a very good time
with lots of good belly laughs! There’s nothing quite like your old friends!
More later...
