Girl's Night

Don't you sometimes wish that you could spend an evening with a couple of your close friends and go to the Spa, out for supper, and then stop for coffee? Well Friday night, I did just that! When Kelly was in the Middle East he had arranged for me and 2 others (whoever I wanted) to go to Ten Spa for massage's! So I chose my friends Stacy and Melissa (they're honestly like my sisters and I have no idea what I would do with out them!) I didn't really work for all of us while Kelly was gone so we changed the appointment and thus we had our night on Friday!

We arrived an hour early so we could steam up in the sauna and enjoy the rain forest shower. Then off to the 'relaxing' room where we had some water (suppose to be some amazing stuff but it tasted quite normal to me!), and waited for our massage therapist to take us back to our rooms. After 50 minutes of bliss and almost falling asleep we went to the quiet lounge and relaxed on white leather sofas until we were ready to go back to the relaxing room and have some snack. For snack there was strips of bread that are absolutely amazing when you eat them with the little chunks of cheese, lots of dried fruit, rectangles of rice with seaweed to roll it up in (we just had the rice and dipping sauce), cucumbers, and green tea. Quite a feast actually and so good!! Relaxed there for awhile then back to take showers. The showers are just awesome too! With 4 rain forest shower heads raining down from you on top and another one from the side you almost feel like you could be swimming or something! We all had very lengthy showers! lol And by the way, they have absolutely everything there for you to use except for maybe toothbrushes... hairdryers, razors, shaving gel, deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, scruntchys, hair pins, and even disposable underwear!

Back out on the road again we made our way to Earl's to have appetizers since we were real hungry after our feast at the Spa! We sat out on the patio and enjoyed chatting about all the strange people that came and went. Of course, we talked about piles of other things too! :)

After coffee and tea we meandered back to the car and finally headed for home. It was an amazing evening, spent with amazing friends! We decided we should definitely do it again! Guess I'll have to save up my work money! lol

The South!

The highlights of our trip to the warm country!

- just me and Kelly doing whatever we wanted in Alb.
- going up Sandia Peak and hiking
- Gallop, seeing all the cute kids
- hiking with Erica and eating at Camille's and stopping for gelato
- the Indian dance's

- Florida! seeing all my old friends

- Morgan and Gwen's wedding
- Pensacola Beach

- Alabama! Home!
- beautiful, sunny days
- clean, refreshing pool
- supper with Doug & Laura and kiddos
- frozen yogurt

I sometimes don't like going back to the south, because I realize all over how much I actually miss everything! The people, culture, food, friends, family, water, trees, hills..... But it was a wonderful time, and it's been nice and sunny here too the last couple of days! One thing I'm really excited about is that I went back to 'on-call' at K-Tec!! So now maybe I'll actually get some things done around here!

Have a great day!

The Middle East

... well I'm back, at least for now! Here's a very abbreviated update on what's been going on in our lives!

- Kelly left me and flew away to Dubai and Saudi for 2 wks! He had a great time! And says he's taking me back there some day, so can't wait for that! He brought back lots of gift.... dresses and the full garb that the women wear there for me, a full outfit for himself, fabric, table runners, scarves... He's awesome at buying gifts!:) He also met a lot of Christians while he was out there so from now on don't believe all the books you read and news you hear about how it's so hard to be a Christian over there. Maybe it would be harder in Afghanistan and some of those countries but Saudi and Dubai it doesn't seem to be a problem at all! He also said it wouldn't be a problem for me to go over there, just have to wear my garb! lol

This is how all the men are dressed...

This would be a very nice garb for the women (going out for supper, or maybe just very rich) Most women would wear lots of make-up and very nice clothes underneath. And not all would cover there whole face....

I worked while Kelly was gone and spent a few days at his folks. Also Farmer's Market has started so I did that on the first Saturday in June. We're gonna be running a booth there for some friends of ours that are in the mission. We don't have to do the baking, just sale it which is the fun job!

And now we are in the good ol' South! I've been soaking up the sun and enjoying all the good food as much as possible! I'll try and give you a trip report when we are back home...

Off to eat some home made ice-cream!!
